Foodie Friday: Galaxy B&G Review

By Brittany Joyner January 5, 2024

Nestled in downtown Killeen, Galaxy B&G is a culinary adventure that transcends the ordinary, weaving Star Wars magic into its eclectic menu of burgers, breakfast, and beyond. It's been a go-to for our family since its Harker Heights days in 2015.

The restaurant is jam-packed with nerdy memorabilia and fun items to shop. Immersed in a galaxy far, far away, the restaurant boasts an ambiance that is both nostalgic and enchanting.

On our most recent visit, where we found ourselves alone in the restaurant (except for a few passing to-go orders), the service was not just lightning-fast and efficient but genuinely warm. Our server, taking Nate on a field trip to explore the cereal wall, exemplified the friendly and personal touch that makes Galaxy stand out.

Galaxy's menu is a gastronomic odyssey. Burgers steal the spotlight, the "What the Sith" burger holds a special place in my heart (and taste buds). Not in the mood for burgers? They've got tacos and breakfast offerings, including bottomless cereal, and they serve the full menu all day. Burgers for breakfast, anyone? Nate, always the breakfast enthusiast, sticks to his routine of cereal – a quirky yet comforting choice that aligns perfectly with the restaurant's character.

For me, Galaxy isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. Trying so many menu items over the years, I've never been served something I didn't love. If you're feeling adventurous, you can swap your burger buns out for texas toast, grilled cheeses, French toast, quesadillas, and even honey buns. For the most daring eaters, they have the "It's a trap!" challenge. One person has to eat: DOUBLE BACON CHEESEBURGER WI CHICKEN BREAST, HOT DOG, JALAPEÑOS, GRILLED CHEESE BUNS, 1 GUISADA, 1 CHICKEN FAJITA, 1 PUFFY TACO, ½LB OF CHILI CHEESE FRIES, ½LB ONION RINGS, 3 HOT WINGS AND 1 BOWL OF CEREAL in an hour.

BYOB is the name of the game at Galaxy, ensuring patrons can pair their galactic feast with their preferred beverages. They offer all the classics (juice, soda, tea, glass bottle Mexican Coke, Monster) of course. The sweet journey at Galaxy concludes with decadent milkshakes and cheesecake.
Right now, they've got a motion-activated alien in front of the door and my little sister loved seeing if she could sneak past it without activating it. The free to play arcade games are perfect to entertain the kids during the short wait for food. If you're a huge Star Wars fan, this is THE place to celebrate May 4 year after year.

Offering generous portions, Galaxy's pricing is reasonable, considering the quality, creativity, and portions. The value for money is evident, making it an accessible choice for foodies. In the culinary galaxy of Killeen, Galaxy B&G shines as a celestial beacon of flavors, creativity, and immersive experiences. It's not just a dining experience; it's a voyage into the extraordinary.

Embark on your own culinary odyssey at Galaxy B&G. From mouthwatering burgers to quirky events, there's always a reason to revisit this cosmic haven. May the flavor be with you!
